HOW TO COPE WITH A CHANGING WORLD? A COMPARATIVE STUDY WITH URBAN LIZARDS

My postdoctoral project focuses on understanding what makes urban-tolerant species unique, and how these artificial environments influence behaviour, social dynamics and cognition.

Understanding how animals cope with changing anthropogenic environments is crucial for effective conservation management and inform urban planning. This is especially important in an era of increasing urbanization and profound anthropogenic impacts on ecosystems.

In this project,  I am studying lacertid lizard species (genera Podarcis and Algyroides) from Croatia across an urbanization gradient, funded by the DFG for 2021-2025, which includes support for research activities and a PhD student.
